What We Do
Nutrix Children’s Homes provide high-quality residential care for children and young people across the North East of England. Our homes offer a safe, nurturing environment where young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs will feel settled, supported, and understood.
Many of the children who come to us arrive following placement breakdowns or in times of crisis. From the very initial conversation, we work in partnership with local authorities, social workers to ensure that every placement is appropriate, carefully planned, and centred on the individual needs of each child.
Our mission is to create supportive homes where young people can feel secure, begin to build trust, and move forward with confidence.

At Nutrix We Offer
Every Child Is Different. Our Care Reflects That.
We take time to understand what has led every young person to care, what they need to feel safe, and how best to support them as they settle in.
Our teams are experienced in proving trauma informed care which is tailored to each young person's individual's needs. Care is structured but flexible, balancing consistent routines with genuine choice, and encouraging each young person to develop confidence, independence, and practical life skills at a pace that feels right for them.
We work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, and health professionals to ensure that care is joined up and responsive to each young person’s changing needs.
Providing a Place to Belong
Our properties are carefully selected, well maintained, and located within residential communities. Each home is designed to feel warm, calm, and welcoming.
Young people are encouraged to personalise their space, take part in everyday home life, and make the home their own. Education, health, and emotional wellbeing are actively supported, with staff providing consistent guidance and genuine encouragement every step of the way.
Key Features of Nutrix Children's Homes
At Nutrix Children’s Homes, every aspect of our service is designed around the individual needs of the young people we support. We understand that no two situations are the same, which is why we provide flexible, responsive care delivered by experienced teams who prioritise safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
Emergency and Short-Notice Placements
Urgency is sometimes unavoidable. Our referral process is clear and straightforward, allowing decisions to be made efficiently without unnecessary delays. We are honest about our availability and will never accept a placement unless we are confident that we can meet the young person’s needs.
Relationship-Led Care
Our homes are small by design. This enables consistent staffing, familiar faces, and the kind of stable, trusting relationships that make a real difference to a young person’s sense of safety and wellbeing.
Stability and Progress
While many placements begin in difficult circumstances, our focus is always on the longer term. We support young people to settle, engage, and make progress at a pace that feels right for them, celebrating every step forward.
Clear, Honest Partnerships with Local Authorities
We understand the pressures involved in finding the right placement, particularly at short notice. We aim to be open and realistic about what we can offer, and we work hard to ensure that every placement is made in the best interests of the young person.
Where we can help, we act promptly. Where we are not the right fit, we will say so from the outset. Our priority is always the quality and stability of the young people placed with us.
